A re-recording of a pretty old song of ours, one of the first we wrote. This song is the direct "prequel" to It Was Snowing (And You Suck) on our Farmbrook Drive EP. It was based on actual events, but it was inspired by reading The Great Gatsby, and so we figured we should get it redone and ready to release for the movie.
This is a song about hope, and takes it's title from the green light on Tom and Daisy's dock that Jay spends his nights alone looking at from across the bay.
(As told by Brenden)
Hello dear, are you still there?
I can only hope you are, hope you haven't gone away yet
Because last time I checked, you were farther than ever before
I can't say why for sure, but you keep me coming back for more
Maybe I'll change things tonight
I won't let you go without a fight
I hope I can set this one right
Everything I said was everything I meant
It's taken some time to get these words straight in my head
This is hard for me to say, so please be patient with me
Because I see in you all that I've ever wanted
Believe it or not, I've felt like this for such a long time
